Don and Cliff Schultz of RR 3,
Blyth have been collecting
model toy tractors for over 20
years now.
It all started in 1985 when Case
and International amalgamated. Cliff
said, "Bryan Vincent (of Vincent
Farm Equipment) got us hooked
when he said that this is something
that you guys should be getting into."
A hobby that has kept with them all
these years has reached the point
where they have an estimated 1,500
model toy tractors, ranging from
John Deere, Case, International, and
Ford. Every brand and model you
can think of the Schultz brothers
have it.
The toy tractors are all 1/16 scale,
most still in the original boxes.
"Sometimes the box is worth more or
just as much as the tractor," Cliff
said.
The brothers buy their toy tractors
at dealers or at various toy shows.
The price can range any where from
$25 to $100. One particular tractor
model cost Don $900. It was the
"Black Night" Case 1070 Agri King.
