This is two-year federal pilot program is designed to provide farmers and their families with short- term financial assistance and access to professional services to help them make decisions to improve their family income. Options is applicable for the 2005 and 2006 taxation years. Options is open to farm families who have a total income of less than $25,000 or individual farmers who have less than $15,000. To be eligible for 2005 and 2006, the applicant must have a gross farm income of $50,000 and have filed with Canada Revenue Agency for these years. For farm IPM 2008 seeks volunteers Plans are underway for the 2008 IPM hosted by Bruce County. Our county has a reputation of hosting excellent matches and hopefully 2008 will be a similar experience. As with any undertaking of this magnitude, it takes many members to it a make a success. If you could provide your enthusiasm and skills in volunteer hours, or sponsorship in- kind or monetary, it would be much appreciated. With the application, farmers must also commit to completing one of the following within two years of the application: • a Farm Business Assessment Plan offered by the Canadian Farm Business Advisory Services or an equivalent or • a Individual Learning Plan and skills training through the Canadian Agricultural Skills Services or an equivalent. Payment will be based on gross farm income and total income from all sources. The payment will bring the total income of a farm family up to a maximum of $25,000 or $15,000 for an individual for each year. Deadline for the 2005 taxation year is October 31, 2006.
