Dow AgroSciences/Mycogen Seeds,
DuPont Canada Limited, Pioneer Hi -
Bred Limited, Pride Seeds, Hyland
Seeds Ltd., Monsanto Canada
/DEKALB, NK Brand, Syngenta
Seeds and Country Farm Seeds.
"The Seed and Crop Input plots
are a "must see" for Show visitors,"
says Doug Wagner, Show co-
ordinator. "It's one of the best
locations to see the many new
soybean and corn varieties perform
just before harvest and to see how
well new and existing crop
production technology has assisted in
bringing the crop to harvest."
The Ontario Soil and Crop
Improvement Association (OSCIA)
and the Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs
(OMAFRA) will be on -hand at their
two -acre site featuring new
demonstration plots on winter wheat
herbicide injury, corn and soybean
replanting options, alfalfa re -growth
after manure application and most
profitable corn weed control.
Other highlights at this popular
demonstration area in the
southeast corner of the Show
site (5th Lane at Lower Machinery
Mall) will include leafhopper
tolerance in alfalfa, establishment
and weed control for windbreaks,
bio -energy crops and the new winter
wheat performance trial summaries.
"With the large number of farmers
that attend Canada's Outdoor Farm
Show, the demonstration plots give
us a great opportunity to extend
information that is timely and
useful," says Horst Bohner of
OMAFRA.
The OSCIA will also be
partnering with Bayer CropScience at
this year's Show for a VIP Crop
Producer brunch and presentations on
managing crop resistance and new
technology. All OSCIA members
will be invited to the show and
brunch and are being encouraged to
bring a neighbour.
In addition to the plots, there are a
variety of other crop demos and
exhibits at the Show. Helmut Spieser
and Albert Tenuta of OMAFRA will
shine light on spray coverage in a
demonstration sponsored by Bayer
CropScience and Hardi Inc. They
will discuss spray applications in a
