PCFA encourages farmers to say not to spreading Biosolids
A resolution was passed at the
Perth County Federation of
Agriculture Board of Directors
meeting in March asking Perth
County farmers to stop accepting
sludge being spread on their land
until the Farm Income Crisis is
resolved.
We are not forcing farmers to
refuse the application of sludge on
their property but asking them to
consider this action. Several farmers
in Perth County have shown their
solidarity by refusing to allow the
sludge from municipalities to be
spread on their land. Several other
County Federations have also taken
this lobby strategy. They include:
Glengarry. Simcoe. York. Dufferin.
Peel. Grey. Victoria/Haliburton.
Huron. Bruce and East
Nipissing/Perry Sound/Muskoka.
This is. another tactic in the lobby
to get the federal and provincial
