Murray said the committee spread the word of the competition over a year in advance with a flyer that was sent with the 2004 tax notices. "People had to commit early," she said, "so they had a year to prepare." The committee was very pleased with the judging, the pictures and the entries," Murray said. Photos of the entries were showcased in a tent at the plowing match. "Many people came through to see them," she said. "It was wonderful to see the different properties and the care and pride that people took in their homes." In the category for most attractive century garden, Harry and Andrea Van Dam of St. Paul's took home the first place prize, Monkton's Rastorfer Farms placed second and Dale and Period buildings still remain on the Stoskopf's century farm.
