Ontario farmers kick off postcard campaign for Risk Management Program
Ontario grain and oilseed
producers are gearing up for a fight
for a larger piece of the provincial
funding pie for agriculture with a
large-scale postcard campaign aiming
to involve farmers, rural citizens and
the general public.
The postcards, reading "Farmers
Feed Cities", have a clear message
for the premier: "Please increase
support to Ontario Agriculture and
the Rural Economy. I encourage the
premier to support the Risk
Management Program (RMP) for
Ontario's farmers."
Growers can pick them up from
the grain and oilseed commodity
offices, local representatives and local
Ontario Sustainable Energy Association releases
Landowners Guide to Wind Energy in Ontario
Landowners in Ontario now have
a free and comprehensive guide on
wind power in Ontario, says James
Murphy, co-author of the "Ontario
Landowners Guide to Wind Energy".
The guide provides landowners with
detailed information on land option
and land lease agreements.
This guide is the first publication
of its kind in Ontario and is the
definitive source of information on
wind energy for landowners. It

make comments on
Nutrient Management
regulations
The Huron County Federation of
Agriculture Executive and Property
Committee is meeting to make
comments on the proposed changes
to the Nutrient Management
regulations which are due on July 24,
2005.
The Huron Federation of
Agriculture donated $200 towards
the annual meeting and picnic of the
Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement
Association which will be held at the
home of Keith Black at Belgrave
August 28, 29 and 30. Displays will
be available for the public to view at
this time.

President Nick Whyte attended the
