August 27 banquet.
In the very difficult category of
Rural Home, four winners were
named with first place going to Don
and Noreen Brodie of RR 4,
Markdale, with Vicki Preston, also of
the Markdale area, capturing second
and Wayne and Wilma Boyd, RR 2,
Meaford, and Rosa Grinschgl, RR 6,
Markdale, tieing for third.
Takingill6p prize in the Farmstead
category were Bill and Sonja Scriven
of RR 3, Ayton. Second place went
to Bob and Monica Franklin of RR 2,
Meaford, with Don and Deanna
Foster of RR 1, Priceville, taking
third.
In the Gateway Entrance division,
the winners were: J. and Betty
Patterson of Lavender Forest, RR
1. Wiarton; Percy and Fay Harrison
of RR 4, Durham and Gerald and
Diane Thiel of RR 1, Owen Sound.
Eagles Weed Control, at RR 2,

Property class. Harvey and Donna

The best Urban Home
beautification prize went to Marjorie
and Don Davison of Meaford, with
two-time winner Dawna Fitzgerald of
Markdale earning second and Keith
and Melanie Grein of Durham taking
third.
The top two in the Seasonal Home
category were Erwin Wittich of RR
1, Williamsford and Enio and Lori
Mascherin of Chatsworth.
The Youth or School Project
award went to St. Peter and St. Paul's
Separate School in Durham.
In the Community or Group
Landscape class, Annesley United
Church in Markdale placed first with
Georgian Bay Garden Club at Harry
Lumley Bayshore and Meaford
Adopt -a -Garden filling out the top
three.
Bed and Breakfast owner Karen
and Glenn Naish of Thornbury
captured first in that category with
John and Roberta Avery of RR 1,
Meaford earning second and B. & J.
Charyk's Thornbrae B&B at RR 4,
