delicate process.
Producers will be able to meet and
discuss production and marketing
issues with industry leaders. Among
the list of exhibitors are feed
companies, breed associations,
genetics companies and marketing
co-operatives.
Each day at the Sheep and Goat
Expo, producers will be able to see
one of the industry's latest
innovations in handling systems for
small stock. This all-purpose
handling system is ideal for sheep or
goats and has been designed with
animal care in mind.
The inaugural Equine Expo will
be the newest addition to Livestock
Central. The Expo will feature
exhibits and demos related to the
diverse horse industry and the
valuable role of horses on
commercial farms.
"Adding something special for the
horse enthusiasts is a logical step,"
explains Underhill, who notes the
number of Ontario farms with
pleasure horses is increasing every
year. "Riding has become a popular
farm family hobby and there's an
interest in horses that keeps showing
up year after year in our surveys of
attendees at the Show," Underhill
says.
Designed to meet the needs of
breeders and owners, the
Equine Expo will be housed
in the Equine Dome — a new 70 -foot
diameter fabric structure engineered
for year-round training and riding of
horses. The Expo will also feature an
automated horse exerciser and twice
daily throughout the Show, there will
be a demonstration of the equipment.
In addition, the Equine Expo will
provide an opportunity to check out
the latest in horse stalls, fencing, tack
and trailers. "We expect the Equine
Expo to meet the interests of the
horse enthusiasts in a big way," says
Underhill.
Representatives from the horse
breed associations will be on hand
daily to field questions and promote
their respective breeds and breeders.
Equine nutrition and health
specialists will also be present in the
expanded livestock section that's
devoted to the Equine Expo.
