The Rural Voice, 2002-09, Page 37A Targe stage will dominate the central tent where presentations will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day of the IPM. Just a few of the highlights include: Jill Wilcox who'll be preparing dishes using food from Farmer Jack and Strathroy Foods; Ann Slater of Oxford County and Bob Chorney of Farm Markets Ontario who'll provide farm -direct marketing tips; Del Dowding of Water Gardens in Mt. Brydges who'll describe how homeowners can prepare their ponds for winter; fashions from E. Mayhew & Son of Glencoe; and Rita Veel with De- Clutter/De-Stress who'll demonstrate the arranging art of Feng Shui. During the days of the match there'll be non-stop entertainment and live demonstrations. Responsible for much of this effort are Dinie Twynstra of Grand Bend and Shirley Hodgson and other members of the Special Events Committee. Twynstra is in charge of the Main Stage which will be located in the centre of the tented city. "What we're trying to do is feature mostly local talent," she says. There's lots of talent to draw from. Portuguese singer Mike Cordeiro of Strathroy will appear on the Wednesday. Watch for the country music entertainer Gary Boyle on the Thursday. Friday's fun includes award-winning fiddler Shane Cook, and Judy Von. Saturday's entertainment will include the Tomato Soup Band, Heart String, and the Beck Family of Owen Sound with fiddling and step dancing. On Sunday, Jimmy Rankin will close out the IPM. Known for his work with The Rankin Family, he'll bring the East Coast heartbeat to the IPM. These people, and many others, help make the admission price to the IPM one of the biggest bargains in 2002. Hodgson is concentrating much of her effort on the Special Events and Demonstration Ring and the Special Events Tent next to it. On most days of the match, there'll be entertainment action from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the Tuesday, there'll be a variety of ponies strutting their stuff in the Demonstration Ring.
