It was a really good experience." Attendance last year varied greatly according to the day of the week. It depends on the weather, Nelly says. Long weekends were the busiest time, especially holiday Mondays. "It was busy all day." The success of the maze ties in with the wealth of activities in the region, Nelly says. It's not often that the whole family can come to an attraction and find something for everyone especially if there's an age difference between children, Nelly says. People can tour the maze or labyrinths and then move on to other area attractions from farmers markets to live theatre. They're prepared for large crowds with two and a half acres set aside for parking. When people arrived at the farm last year, the family members would sell them tickets, then go out to explain to them the options they had in touring the maze. This year they hope to have more self -guided tours using written instructions. The operation is a family affair. Their son Benjamin who is going off to college this year and a daughter, Jasmin, in high school, both help out when the summer crowds arrive. Ernst's mother Marie and brother Martin also help out. "So everybody has a part," says Nelly.
