Midwinter can be.a dreary time. Everything is in
shades of black and white and grey. But
increasingly rural residents have been learning
what enjoyment feeding the birds can bring to
their lives. It can
be inexpensive
and provide
hours of
entertainment.
Sarah Caldwell
talked to people
who have plenty
of experience in
attracting birds
and adding
colour to their
backyards in
winter.

Milking sheep seems like a pretty strange business to most
Ontario farmers. In fact until Axel Meister and his wife Dr.
Chris Buschbeck began milking sheep a few years ago few in
Canada knew it was done. Yet Canada imports 45 million
pounds of sheep milk cheese a year.
