Huron resolutions passed at OFA annual meeting "
The following resolutions were
passed at the OFA Convention which
originated with the Huron County
Federation of Agriculture.
I. NISA Triggered Withdrawals:
Whereas the current lobby effort
for an equitable playing field is being
hampered because some producers
are not withdrawing their triggered
Net InFome Stabilization Account
(NISA) funds, and
Whereas triggered NISA FUND 2
money is taxable only if it is
withdrawn,
Therefore be it resolved that in
order to encourage withdrawal of
triggered NISA funds the Ontario
Federation of Agriculture lobby to
make triggered NISA fund 2 money
taxable even if it is not withdrawn so
that the farm organization lobby for a
level playing field is not hindered.

2. Environmental Rehabilitation
Program.:
Whereas the current Healthy
64 THE RURAL VOICE
Futures Program ends in March 2003,
and a long term environmental
rehabilitation program is needed, and
Whereas the current Healthy
Futures Program does not cover all
environmental rehabilitation work
that is needed, and
Whereas the Environmental Farm
Plan (EFP) funding is also short term,
and
Whereas proposed Nutrient
Management Act 2001 may force
farmers to incur capital expenses that
help the environment but do not
increase profitability,
Therefore be it resolved that the
Ontario Federation of Agriculture
work with other farm groups to lobby
the federal and provincial
governments for a long-term
Environmental Rehabilitation
Program.
Motion Carried.
3. Distribution of OFA Membership
List:
Whereas OFA has decided to enter
into an agreement with a credit card
company as a direct member benefit,
and
Whereas there has been opposition
in the past to allowing the. use of

Therefore be it resolved that the
Ontario Federation of Agriculture test
