the match.
Hosting the match on the farm is
an honour for McDonald. He hopes
that it will showcase the best of
Middlesex County to the rest of the
province.
The committees have been busy
with preparations for the
match. The education, enter-
tainment, bands and parades and 20
other committees have been busy
working towards the match.
Organizers have been going around
to community fairs to promote next
year's match. The group will be at
the 2001 International Plowing
Match in Navan, near Ottawa.
A collection of hotels, bed and
breakfasts and other accommodations
has been built. A website at
www.ipm2002.on.ca gives details
and up-to-date information.
Delicious country recipes from
Middlesex are about to be released in
the 2002 match cookbook with
recipes from committee members,
the' women's institute and well
known residents of Middlesex.
People are busy stitching for the quilt
competition Which must be complet-
ed in January. Changes are' being
made to area gardens as Middlesex
residents compete for the most
improvement in the landscaping
competitions. And donations to
reach the million dollar budget are
actively being sought.
With a solid ground of preparation
to stand on the Middlesex Plowing
Match is looking forward to next
September to put on the best show
possible. They promise a match with
much flair with the new and regular
attractions.°
