barn owl invitations by locating nest
boxes westward into Elgin and
northward into Wellington — and
beyond. In addition to older wooden
barns. barn owls also need ample
pasture or meadowlands to hunt.
As with many wildlife programs
and projects. there are many
opportunities to make it a personal or
family project. In addition to
volunteering your barn for a nest box,
anyone is encouraged to report barn
owl sightings, or any kndwledge of
past nesting activity. Looking for that
next woodworking project? Amateur
carpenters are needed to help
construct nest boxes.
