Perth Pork Producers honour fellow producers
Matt and Sumiko Marui (left and centre, above left) were
given the promotion award by the Perth County Pork
Producers' Association at the group's annual meeting in

Pork Producers' Association held its
annual meeting in Atwood, January
24.
The Danbrooks were honoured as
Producers of the Year because of
Jim Van Herk presented the award. Walter Bosch (left,
above) presented the Producer of the Year Award to Russ
and Judy Danbrook for their work on environmental
matters on behalf of the county's pork producers. (Judy
was unable to attend).
Russ's dedication to dealing with
environmental issues regarding pork
production. Russ, receiving the
award on behalf of Judy who was
unable to attend, said he was
speechless at receiving the award.
"The producer of the Year Award
could go to anyone who's still here
after 1998," he said of the survivors

Ron Bennett
heads Cattle
Feeders' Assoc.
Ron Bennett of Gorrie has been
elected president of the Ontario
Cattle Feeders' Association,
succeeding Dave Gardiner of
Kirkton who piloted the group
through its first two years.
Bennett and his family have been
in the cattle feeding business for
generations. They own and operate
Wm. Bennett and Sons Farms Ltd.
First vice-president of the
organization is Barry Pletch of
Rockwood while Doug Calhoun of
Dobbinton is second vice-president.
Other midwestern Ontario directors
include Brent Cavell. Harriston, Jim
Cooke, Walkerton, Paul Coultes,
Brussels, Murray Legge, Chesley,
and Dale Pallister, Dundalk.0
