Quite a number from this
district attended the sale at
Percy Caslick's farm in Culross
on Monday.
East Wawanosh people were
interested in the progress of Mr.
John Fisher of Zetland, who was
pinned under a tractor last Fri-
day in the bush on the farm of
Allan Nicholson at Bluevale.
He is still suffering from broken
ribs and burns from the battery
acid. Their daughter, Miss
Jacqueline Fisher, who was em-
ployed in the Bell Telephone
office here, left on Sunday to
take a similar position in Sud-
bury.
Mrs. Andrew Wilson and her
sister, Mrs. McPhail, were
under the doctor's care last
week with flu.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fal-
coner of London spent theweek-
end with her mother, Mrs. R.J.
Currie.
Mrs. Dowling left on Mon-
day to take up residence at
Mount Forest. Laverne is at
Mount Forest where he is a dis-
patcher for the Ontario Provin-
cial Police.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClen-
aghan visited on Sunday with
her grandmother, Mrs. Ethel
Thompson at Huronview, Clin-
ton and with Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Fleishauer of Clinton.
Mr. and Mrs. George Coffin
and Sharon of Kitchener spent
Sunday with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Claude Coffin.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emer-
son visited on Monday with his
sister, Mrs. John Haggitt of
Brussels.
Mrs. Donald McDonald
spent a few days last week with
her niece, Mrs. Chas. Cook of
Lucknow. People in this dis-
trict extend sympathy to Mrs.
Cook, whose son, Jack, passed
away suddenly at his home on
Tuesday last. His father passed
away suddenly three years ago,
and his uncle John Gillies pass-
ed away suddenly last year.
Jack leaves his wife and mother
to mourn him.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnston Conn
are leaving by train, this Wed-
nesday to spend a few months at

Mrs. Reavie thanked her friends
for their kind and thoughtful

Euchre Winners
WHITECHURCH--Mr, and
Mrs. George Walker and Mr.
and Mrs, Kenneth Currie spon-
sored the euchre last Friday
night at S. S. 9, East Wawanosh.
Fifteen tables were in play.
Mrs. Phillip Dawson and Jas
Coultes held high points, and
Mrs. Earl Weitz and Jimmie
Robertson held low points.
Jack Shiell won the prize for
the most lone hands in hearts,
and Mrs. Alex Robertson won
the box of chocolates for the
lucky ticket draw.
Mr. and Mrs, Lloyd Mont-
gomery and Mr, and Mrs,
Noble Greenway are sponsoring
the next euchre in two weeks.
All enjoyed the social half-
hour together.
Sharon Reavie
Receives Gift
WHITECHURCH—Mrs. Nor-
man Coultes and Mrs. George
McGee entertained their Sun-
day school class of twelve boys
and girls at the home of Mrs.
Coultes last Friday evening.
After the recreation and con-
test period, the class presented
Miss Sharon Reavie, who re-
cently moved with her mother
to Wingham, with a remem-
brance from them all. Sharon
thanked her friends for their
kind gift and all enjoyed re-
freshments during the social
hour.
Achievement Day
WHITECHURCH--Mrs. Vic-
tor Emerson, Mrs, Wallace
Conn, Mrs, Albert Coultes and
Mrs. Peter Norman, leader of
the 4-H group of girls, and
Diane Coultes, Beverley Solo-
man, Sandra Fisher, Alma
Conn, and Thresa DeBruyen
were at Kincardine on Saturday
and attended the Achievement
Day program there. The girls
were presented with two and
four-year certificates for com-
pleting two and four years of
project. This year's course
was on bed -room accessories.
They presented a two -act skit.
