The Citizen, 1989-12-13, Page 25Obituaries. A. DOUGLAS CAMPBELL A. Douglas Campbell of RR 3, Blyth died Thursday, Dec. 7, 1989 at Wingham and District Hospital following a short illness. Mr. Campbell was born in East Wawanosh Township 82 years ago and lived his whole life in the township taking part in many community activities. He was on the township school board and was involved in the Federation of Agriculture. He was heavily in­ volved in church work and was an honorary Deacon of the Huron Missionary Chapel in Auburn, an honorary member of the Gideons, secretary for the provincial board of trustees of the Church of God in Ontario and served on the South Huron Board of Youth for Christ for many years. He married the former Gladys L. Good in the Auburn Manse in 1937. The couple farmed in East Wawa­ nosh before their retirement. Surviving besides his wife are four sons: John and his wife Betty of Welland; Ralph and Nancy, James and Marilyn and Eric, all of RR 3, Blyth. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Laura and Doug, Heather, Cheryl and Kevin and Robbie, Steven and Melissa. He was predeceased by a sister Winnifred Campbell (1954) and a brother James Howard Campbell (1979). The funeral service took place Dec. 9, 1989 from the Tasker Chapel of the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home, Blyth with Rev. James H. Carne of the Huron Missionary Chapel in Auburn (where Mr. Campbell was a mem­ ber) officiating. Interment was in Blyth Union Cemetery. NORMAN ELDON FAIRLES Norman Eldon Fairies of RR 1, Gorrie died at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Dec. 7, 1989. He was born in Whitchurch Township, 89 years ago. He was a retired farmer and a member of Gorrie United Church. He was a past master of Richardson Masonic Lodge, Stouffville. He was the beloved husband ot the late Nellie Maude Card and Cecelia Macklin. He is survived by two sons: Norman and Edna Fairies of RR 1, Gorrie (Reeve of Howick Township) and Elford and Anne Fairies of Toronto as well as five grandchildren and eight great­ grandchildren. He was predeceas­ ed by sisters Della Jordan and Rita Hassard and brothers Watson and Floyd Fairies. The funeral service was held from the Betts Funeral Home, Gorrie Chapel on Dec. 10, 1989 with Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating. Interment was in Stouffville Ceme­ tery. BUELAH ELIZABETH MASON Beulah Elizabeth Mason of Wroxeter, Ontario, formerly of East Wawanosh Township passed away Tuesday, December 5, 1989 in her 71st year at University Hospital London, Ontario. She was the daughter of Cecil and Othella (Motz) Skinner of Centralia, Ontario. Beulah leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Kenneth; two sons Peter of New Liskeard, Barry and wife Brenda of Belgrave, Ontario; three daugh­ ters, Nancy and Husband George O’Dell of Lipton, Sask., Wanda of New Hazelton, B.C., Lorna and husband Bruce Williamson of Har­ riston, Ontario, eight grandchild­ ren, Ivy O’Dell, Judy and Byron Williamson, Danny, Janette and Andrew Ward-Mason and Nathan and Benjamin Mason; one brother Sam and wife Aldeen Skinner of Centralia, Ontario; one sister Doris, Mrs. Ronald Denham of Exeter; one aunt, Mary and hus­ band Eli Brown of Exeter; one uncle, Gerald (Pat) and wife Gladys of Exeter and many nieces, ne­ phews, and cousins. Beulah was predeceased by her mother Othella, April, 1962, her father Cecil in March 1981 and one sister Alma McAllister July 1976. The Calvin-Brick U.C.W. con­ ducted a Memorial Service at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wing­ ham, December 7, 1989 at 7 p.m. in memory of Beulah who was Past President and long-time member of the U.C.W of Calvin-Brick United Church. Funeral service was arranged and held at McBurney’s Funeral Home in Wingham, Ontario, Fri­ day, December 8, 1989 at 1:30 p.m. with spring interment in Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave. In leu of flowers, friends and relatives may donate to the Wingham and Dis­ trict Hospital. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Peter D. Tucker and Rev. John G. Roberts of Belgrave. During the service a reading was given by Mrs. Gilbert Beecroft, a long-time friend and neighbour and the 23rd Psalm was sung by grandson Danny Ward-Mason. The Wingham and District Hospital provided an honour guard of six nurses for pallbearers George Mc­ Gee, Ivan Dow, John Gaunt, David Beecroft, Leonard Robinson and Ronald McBurney and flower bear- res, nephews, Bill Denham, Larry Johnston and Gary Skinner. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13, 1989. PAGE 25. Beulah was bom December 23, 1918 at Centralia, Ontario. She was a Registered Nurse graduating from Sarnia General Hospital 1942. She worked as a nurse at Mt. Royal Hospital in Montreal, Quebec; Detroit Hospital, Detroit, Michigan and Wingham and District Hospi­ tal. Beulah nursed in Wingham from 1961 until 1983 when she retired as night Supervisor. Beulah married her husband Kenneth at Centralia United Church April 10, 1946. Together they farmed in East Wawanosh Township until they retired from farming in 1986 and moved to Wroxeter. EMERSON HESK Emerson Hesk of Clinton, and formerly of RR 1, Londesboro passed away at Clinton Public Hospital on Friday, Dec. 8, 1989. He was 91 years of age. He was born in Clinton on May 4, 1898, the son of the late William Hesk and Catherine Barber. He married the former Mae Lyon and the couple farmed in Hullett town­ ship until their retirement. Mrs. Hesk predeceased her husband. He was a member of the Londes­ boro United Church. He is survived by two daughters, Velma Robinson of Clinton and Marjorie MacLellan of Hamilton and two sons, Doug and his wife Flora of RR 2, Goderich and Gordon and his wife Joan of Strathroy as well as by nine grandchildren and six great-grand­ children. Also surviving is one sister, Nona, (Mrs. Lloyd Pipe) of Seaforth. The funeral service was held at the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home “Ball Chapel’’ on Monday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. with Rev.
