New project offers seniors carefree housing Stuff a sock tin it....Ho?Ho!no Plans for a new concept in senior citizens’ housing, unique to Huron County, will be unveiled at an open house in the Clinton Town Hall on December 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. The project, to be called Maple hill Retirement Village, will feature a 35-unit, two-storey, non-profit building in which owner-occupants have a lifetime lease. Featuring large two and three bedroom units, each apartment will also have two bathrooms, a solar ium, a fireplace and a large kitchen with three appliances as well as a private laundry and storage room. “A number of studies have shown a real shortage of this type of carefree housing for seniors in Huron County,” said Jim Fitzger ald of Clinton, Community Co-ord inator of the project. “We hope Maplehill will lead the way for other similar projects in Huron.” Maplehill will be tailor-made for seniors with additional shared facil ities like a whirlpool, a sauna, crafts and games rooms, an atrium and meeting rooms, all convenient ly located within the building. It will be fully accessible by an elevator.
