Inter­ ment followed at Blyth Union Cemetery. NORMAN LESLIE GARNISS Norman Leslie Garniss, formerly of Blyth, passed away at Credit Valley Hospital on October 19, 1989, in his 74th year. Mr. Garniss was the son of the late George William and Hannah Jane (Moutray) Garniss. He was born on April 4, 1916 and was raised at Browntown on Cone. 2 of Obituaries INEZ M. MACDONALD Mrs. Inez M. MacDonald of Saanichton, B.C. died on October 17, 1989. She was 104 years of age. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hirons, Mrs. Mac­ Donald was born on April 29, 1885. She resided in Blyth until 1986 and was a member of Blyth United Church during that time. Mrs. MacDonald was predeceas­ ed by her husband Gordon, three sisters Mildred, Jessie and Mar­ garet and two brothers, James and Hubert. Left to mourn her is her daughter Margaret (Glendine) Mrs. Jim Morris Township. A bachelor, Mr. Gamiss was a veteran of World War II. Following the war he worked for Canadian Pacific Rail­ way in Auburn then moved with CPR to the Toronto area. After retiring he lived in Streetsville. Mr. Garniss is survived by his brother Harvey Garniss of Blyth. Funeral services were held at the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home “Tasker Chapel’’ on Sunday, Oc­ tober 22 at 2 p.m. Rev. Ramirez of Blyth United officiated. Interment was Blyth Union Cemetery. ROBERT [“JIM”] KINKEAD Robert James H. (“Jim’’) Kin­ kead died at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 15, 1989. Lorenzo Church held at Business A resident of Goderich, Mr. Kinkead was born in Newton, Ontario. He was a retired school superintendent for Huron County North, as well as a member of the North Street United Church, the Goderich Lions Club, the Maitland Lodge 33 A.F. & A.M. and the Menesetung Canoe Club. On Dec. 8, 1988, Mr. Kinkead was the recipient of the first Melvin Jones Award presented to a mem­ ber of the Goderich Lions Club. This is the highest award in Lionism. In conjunction with this award, a $500 scholarship is pre­ sented to a deserving student at Goderich District Collegiate Insti­ tute. Mr. Kinkead is survived by his wife Margaret (Stinson) and two sons, Robert of Willowdale and John of Mississauga. He is also survived by grandchildren Mat­ thew, Thomas and Martha Kin­ kead. * He was predeceased by one son, William James Kinkead, and one grandson, Samuel Kinkead.
