Citizen” and a playwright, visited
the Grade 8 class. He described the
structure of a play. He spoke about
the main elements that are includ
ed in most plays. They are:
development of the characters, an
ongoing conflict throughout the
play, humour and building up to a
climax at the end of a play. This
will help us with the steps of
writing our own plays during
English classes this term.
At the end of the session, we
broke into small groups and creat
ed a short scenario which we acted
out in class. Mr. Roulston gave us
suggestions to improve our at
tempts.
