Phone 887-6645 Cathy Hart honoured at shower A community shower was held for Cathy Hart, bride of October 14. Contests were played, an ad­ dress was read and the bride was assisted opening the gifts by her mother, Lois and the groom’s mother, Madeline Thompson. Cathy expressed her thanks for the many useful gifts and lunch wa served. Mr. and Mrs. Allan McTaggart, Goderich and Mrs. Leslie Knight are home from a three week motor trip to Saskatchewan where they visited with relatives. Don and Mrs. Cotton attended a birthday party Sept. 30 at Primrose for Don’s sister. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley and Mrs. Mac Engel visited on Oct. 1 with Jack and Mrs. Clark, Strat­ ford. Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Naggocca of Kitchener and Betty Fretz of Listowel visited Allan and Mrs. Fretz recently. The first meeting of the Cran- brook 4H club was held on Sept. 26. The club went through the introduction of the book and then chose the officers. The president is Ann Uhler; vice president is Wayne Alexander; secretary and press reporter is Jennifer Vanass and treasurer is Barb Alexander. The phone person is Angie Williams. Members decided they would open the meetings with the 4H pledge and close the meetings with the 4H motto. They then went through the pamphlet and did all the exercises. They were then given their home activities and told to bring a suggestion for a club name. The meeting was closed with the 4H motto. The second meeting of the Cranbrook 4H club was held on Oct. 2. The meeting was opened with the 4H pledge. The minutes of the last meeting were read and the club chose a name - “The Cranbrook Bandaid Brigade’’. Members were told to bring a cover design to the next meeting. The club went through the exercises in the pamphlet for meeting two and were given their home assignments. The International Peace Walk which will take place from Hungary to Kiev will be supported by sponsoring Eric Eberhardt of Strat­ ford. He will join over 200 North Americans who will take part and will be joined by local citizens from the Soviet Union. The forum on the environment will be held on November 15 in Lucknow. It will focus on bringing concerned groups and individuals together to look at environmental problems in our community and how to solve them.
