Sinking feeling
The end of the race can’t come too soon for these competitors in
the bathtub race at FunFest Sunday as they find themselves
taking on water as they reach shore.
Optimistic pirate
Pirates these days may still look fierce as
Don Crawford on the Brussels Optimist
float does, but they’re a little short on
water. Instead of making people walk the
plank into the ocean, he only squirted
people with water from a garden sprayer.
Brussels had its own Batmobile in the parade Saturday as Batman and the Joker took time out from
making millions in the movies to visit FunFest.

Relaxing ride
For some people, being in the parade wasn’t an exciting event
at all, in fact it took great effort just to manage a wave.
There is a chilling experience ahead for this participant in the
Brussels Scouts’ dunk tank as he heads down into the water.
The dunk tank was a popular attraction in the main street
activities.
