Phone 523-4360 Londesboro people On Tuesday, June 27, Beth Knox enjoyed a bus tour with the Blyth Seniors and Horticulture Society to the African Lion Safari (near Cam­ bridge). The bus travelled through the grounds where the animals and birds roam. There was a boatride, a train ride, a parrot show, the animal amphitheatre, birds of prey, de­ monstration and gift shops to explore. The bus travelled on to the Rockwood Gardens. Home by St. Agatha with dinner at Angie’s Kitchen. On June 28, Hazel Watkins was a guest at the Grade 8 graduation of two grandchildren at the Wallace Public School, Gowanstown. Mark Holgworth, son of Barb and Bill Holgworth and Laura Mallet, daughter of Shirley and John Mallett were among the graduates. Congratulations to Mark and Laura. Mrs. Olive McGee of Mason, Michigan and Mr. and Mrs. John Moore of Vancouver, B.C. visited with Edythe Beacom and Laura Lyon. All attended the 50th wedd­ ing anniversary of Rev. Phone 887-6645 People visit in Cranbrook Approximately 35 members and friends of Knox Church Sunday School enjoyed a picnic in Brussels on Sunday afternoon, June 25. Many made use of the swimming pool followed by a pot luck picnic lunch. Mrs. Jack Conley received the sad news on Sunday of the death of her niece, Mrs. Mernie Middle- mas, at the age of 49, in Spalding, Sask. Earl and Ruth Grisdale and family visited recently with friends in Windsor that they haven’t seen for many years. Their daughter Carrie Lynn from North Bay spent a few days with the family. Mrs. Mary McArthur visited her son David, accompanied by David’s aunt and godmother, Mrs. Flor­ ence Weeks, both from Markham. They were enjoying Mrs. McAr­ thur’s new car and attended the Blyth Theatre. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Engel and granddaughter Kelli Smith, Monk­ ton, accompanied Ronnie Watson, Brussels, on a motor trip to Calgary. They visited Banff and Lake Louise and toured Calgary, returning through the U.S.A. All attended the McCombe - Wick wedding, June 24 in Calgary. Peter Hagedoorn is presently on a two-week holiday. His son Adam from Toronto spent Father’s Day with him. Melissa, daughter of Earl and Ruth Grisdale underwent a tonsil­ ectomy in Wingham Hospital, June 21. Judy Engel, Ottawa, is holiday­ ing at the home of her parents, John and Pat Engel. Many from the community at­ tended the Bentley - Miller wedd­ ing June 24 in Fordwich and the reception in Kurtzville. Shirley and Flora Adams, At- - wood, enjoyed a holiday with their grandparents, Wilfred and Mrs. Strickler. Mrs. Mac Engel attended the Baker-Engel wedding on June 24 in First United Church, Waterloo and spent the weekend with Paul and Debbie Engel. Friday night, June 30 the family of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley celebrated their mother’s birthday which is on July 1. Attending were Doug and Nancy Conley, Shawn, Shannon and Nathan, Doug and Wilma Rathwell, Harvey and Mar­ garet Clarke and Paul, Ross and Wilma Shiell of London also joined the celebration. Ball playing at Jeschke park got under way last week. The juniors play on Monday night and seniors Wednesday. Anyone interested in playing, please contact Beryl Smith or Lois Hart. The 50 guests enjoyed a barbecue dinner and many gifts were received. Guests were present from Mil­ verton, Clinton, Blyth, Tobermory, Seaforth, Auburn, Wiarton and Londesboro. The following Londesboro Happy Gang Seniors attended the Senior Games at Hensail, Zurich and Exeter last Monday and Tuesday, June 26 and 27; Euchre, Vietta Hoggart, Hazel Reid; Cribbage, Clare Vincent, Len Archambault; Shuffleboard, Helen Lawson, Lome Hunking; 5 Pin Bowling, Jack Lee, Joe Hunking, Harry Lear, Nellie Brock and June Fothergill.
