Sunday in Knox Church. Music was in charge of Madalene Steiss and Freda Crawford gave the call to worship. Donna Knight led in the responsive Psalm 100. Rev. Steven Webb led in prayer and gave the children’s story. The history of the local W.M.S. was read by Yvonne Knight and Laura Strickler read the scripture Acts 10: v. 1-27. The message based on the work of the W.M.S. was given by Eleanor Stevenson. The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated on June 11. On Sunday, May 28 Janine Marie Juanita was baptized at Knox Presbyterian Church, Cran- brook, by Rev. Steven Webb. Special guests included grandpar­ ents Jack and Donna Knight, Lome and Jane Draper, Pearl Gloor, (great-grandmother) as well as Lloyd and Ellen MacPherson (great uncle and aunt). Janine is the daughter of Brad and Juanita Knight, Mitchell. Paul and Debbie Engel, Kitchen­ er, are proud to announce the arrival of their daughter Alicia Erin bom May 11 in St. Mary’s hospital, Kitchener, a first great-grand­ daughter for Mrs. Annie Engel. Members and friends of Cran- brook W.I. along with the 4H club visited the Huron County Museum at Goderich on Sunday afternoon, May 28. Only a percentage of the artifacts are in place as yet but along with the film “The first winter” and the beautiful new building it proved an interesting outing. The group then enjoyed a picnic supper at St. Christopher’s beach where the young people climbed the steep hill to see the lighthouse. The 4H group then visited a nursery. Perfect weather added to the enjoyment. Congratulations to Bev Hart, daughter of Mrs. Lois Hart, Brus­ sels who graduated from the Wing­ ham and District Hospital’s Regis- tered Nurses Assistant Course on May 19. The graduation exercises took place at the United Church, Wingham. Bev is currently employ­ ed at the Callander Nursing Home, Brussels. Don and Mrs. Cotton, accompan­ ied by Pal Somers visited on May 28 with Mr. and Mrs. Angus Starr, Alliston. The third meeting of the North Huron Vet Club was held May 24 at the Blyth Veterinary Clinic. The meeting was opened by the 4H pledge and roll call. The business of a fundraiser and a fun day was discussed. Erica Clark made a presentation-on her day spent with the vet, and commented on the job the vet does for the family farm and for our household pets. Karen Bakker, the youth leader of the club, made a presentation on the difference be- tween lungs that have been used for breathing and those that have never been used, i.e. those of a calf that has lived and breathed vs. those of a still-born calf. Alma Conn was a guest speaker and did the lesson. Along with the club she did an autopsy of the entire respiratory system of a cow, and a discussion was held on what was seen. The next meeting of the North Huron Vet Club will be held June 20 at Boonstoppel’s. It implements the Morris Secondary Plan by establishing land use controls and zones in the Township. ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed zoning by-law. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed zoning by-law is available at the Township Office in Morris during normal business hours, or alternatively by contacting the Huron County Planning Department (524-2188].
