Two questionnaires have been design ed, one being geared towards the local business people and the other addressed to the local residents. The purpose of the questionnaires is to determine the community’s attitudes regarding local economic growth in the future. The surveys are a component of the work being undertaken by the Brussels and Grey Industrial Com mittee and volunteers in conjunc tion with the Huron County Plann ing and Development Department. The information gathered will be used in evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the Village for community and economic develop ment, and also in the preparation of a five-year plan that will build on the strengths and work to remedy the weaknesses. Questionnaires will be distribut ed to the local business people by Rose Marks, a local geography student hired to do research for the project over the summer. Question naires to the local residents of Brussels will be hand delivered and collected by Industrial Committee members and volunteers. Both groups are urged to provide their input regarding community ideas in developing strategies for future development. The survey results will be com piled and included as part of the Brussels Community Economic Development Strategy, scheduled to begin this fall.
