More than $3000 raised for cancer in Brussels The Canadian Cancer Society canvass in Brussels totalled $2,997.13 and the sale of daffodils amounted to $314.50 which made an overall total of $3,311.63. If it were not for the volunteer canvassers this would not have been possible. The committee con­ sisting of Kathy Bridge, Peggy Cudmore, Edna Mclellan and Doris McCall would like to express their sincere thanks to the canvassers and to all who gave so generously. Jewitt Chair BY BRIAN MACKINNON REGIONAL SUPERVISOR BRUCE, HURON & PERTH JUNIOR AGRICULTURALIST PROGRAM The Junior Agriculturalist pro­ gram is right on schedule for 1989. The procedure for placement of the Junior Agriculturalists on farms for the summer begins this week. Approximately 20 young people will be working on farms in Bruce, Huron and Perth Counties this summer. Orientation day is rolling around as well. It will be held June 10th at the Listowel Community Centre beginning at 9:45 a.m. Speakers from the Farm Safety Association and St. John’s Ambulance will be on hand. The Junior Agriculturalists will be starting on the farms June 26th and will work for 8 weeks. A challenging experience is ahead for these young people this summer in Mid-Western Ontario.
