Phone 523-4360 Large crowd attends Londesboro Songfest A large crowd attended the ninth annual Songfest at the Londesboro United Church on Sunday evening, April 9. Carl Nesbitt was at the door. The following groups presented an enjoyable concert: The Londes­ boro United Church Junior Choir; piano duet, Kerry Szusz and Kelly Bosman; Jazz Vox from Goderich High School; the Amoraals; the Seaforth Harmony Kings; Junior Key Tones, Karen Trick, Krista Black, Andrea Postma and Elly Wilts; Senior Key Tones, Deanna Lyon on organ, on piano Kelly Bosman, Gail Lear, Barb Bosman and Sara Lyons; pianist, Ron Greidanus. The Board of Stewards thanked the performers and the audience. Special thanks was given to Elgin Penfound who arranged Hot hands Both floors of the Londesboro hall were filled with Euchre players Friday night as the Londesboro Lions Club held its Men’s Euchre Night. The event will raise money for community activities. Sunday school plans rummage sale Greeters at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, April 9 were Jack and Marion Snell. Ushers were Murray White, Paul Jewitt, Brent Howatt and Lawrence Bergs- ma. The choir anthem was “Were you there?’’. The sermon topic was “How can I know God’s Will?”. Choir practice is next Sunday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m. Bible Study is Friday, April 14 at 1:15 p.m. at the Snihurs. Senior Youth Group meets Thursday, April 13 at 7 p.m. at the school. Boy’s Club is having a sleep over at the Snihurs on Friday, April 14 at 7 p.m. Sunday School is having a giant rummage sale at the church on Saturday, May 13. A Community of Concern meet­ ing will be held at Mitchell on April 19. Shuffleboard results Shuffleboard was held at Hullett Central School on Wednesday, April 5 at 8 p.m. High man was Reg. Lawson. Ladies’ high was a tie between Helen Lee and Audrey Thompson. Brussels Legion plans supper BY SANDRA JOSLING A mixed darts evening was held at the Brussels Legion, Saturday, March 25. First place went to the team of Dave Jamieson and Liz Shouldice with a close second by Barry Engel, Jean Little and Mar­ tha Logans’ team. Fun was had by all those participating. By special demand the Legion is planning a Ribs ‘n Kraut supper and dance. The event takes place Saturday, April 15 with the doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the Legion with every­ one welcome. Legion members are planning to attend Loyalty Day in Standish, Michigan on April 29. Standish is Sister City to the Brussels Legion. The celebration includes parade, dinner and dancing. the evening.
