Phone 526-7589 Knifty Knitters to see spinning demonstration Hullett councillors decided at their regular meeting on March 21, to nominate Clara Riley for the Senior Achievement Award being made by the Minister for Senior Citizens’ Affairs in celebration of Senior Citizens’ Month. The revised budget for the Blyth and District Community Centre was approved as were several grants for 1989. They include: $250 to Blyth Festival; $500 to Tov/n and Country Homemakers; $50 to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind; $250 to the Seaforth Aricul- tural Society; $50 to the Huron County Farm and Home Safety Association; $1,000 to the Town­ ship of Tuckersmith Vanastra Re­ creation Committee; $50 to the Heart and Stroke Foundation; $1,000 plus a letter to the Clinton Public Hospital and $50 to the 7 tables at Auburn euchre The weekly euchre party was held on Tuesday evening, April 4 with seven tables in play. Winners were: high lady, Lois Cunningham; low lady, Nancy Sla­ ter; high man, Clarence Allin; low man, Harold McClinchey; novelty, Gordon Gross. A tender from Birnam Excavat­ ing for the construction of the Auburn Drainage Works was ac- cepted. Tender price was $86,583.76. Council considered the appeals of assessment by R. & M. Good and K. & M. Hulley and agreed that no changes would be made to them and that they would close the Court of Revision. A tender of $38,400.00 from Brickman Drainage Ltd. was accep­ ted for the construction of the Greindaus Municipal Drain. Council is inviting tenders to cut the grass in the four cemeteries maintained by Hullett in addition to the two ball parks. Bids may include all or part of the above. Council will authorize Neil Sal- verda and Jim Johnston to attend the course for setting off fireworks. The course will be held on April 12 at the Fire Hall in Owen Sound.
