WROXETER---- The Christmas
meeting of the Wroxoter W.A. was
held last Tuesday evening hi, the
church parlors with Mrs. John
Snell and Mrs. Wm. Wright in
(tillage. Mrs. Leslie Oougi a took

flowed by the Scripture by Mrs.
!Snell, as was the commentary. Mrs, 1 Les Douglas offered prayer and

and Mrs. Ron-ad McMichael, Car

1 nuts carols and Mrs. Snell gave a
Christmas reading. A few verses
of each of three carols, "0 Little
Town of Bethlehem" "As with
Gladness Men of Old", and "Joy to
the World" were sung with Mrs.
George Gibson giving the setting
for the writing of each carol, pre
ceding the singing of each.
The meeting elnsed with the
Lord's Prayer.
Mrs. MoCutcheon took the chair
for the business ' portion and 15
members answered the roll call
with -a verse containing the word
"sacrifice", Bell money wan hand-
ed in to the treasurer; $25 was
voted to "Singtime"; $5 to Five
Oaks; $50 to Missionary and Main-
tenance; $3 for a gift for Mrs. Ag-
nes McDonald In Beck Memorial
San., London.
Mrs. 3/feCutcheon expressed her
thanks to ladies for the co-opera-
lion she had received during her
term as president.
Four ladies, Mrs, 'Harvey Mc-
Michael, Mrs. Harry Adams, Mrs.
Ken Bennett and Mrs. George Gib-
son were presented with gifts for
perfect attendance during 1961.,
With Rev, Fred Taylor as chair-
man, a new slate of officers was
drawn up for the unit for 1952.
A delicious lunch was served by
Mrs. Snell, Mrs. Wright and Mrs.
Douglas. . . ....__

Institute Meeting
WROXETER--- The Christmas
meeting f the Wroxeter Women's
Institute was held at the home of
Mrs. Wm. Wright when 14 members
and three visitors attended. Christ-
Alas decorations and music made
a fitting setting for the occasion.
The president, Mrs, Gordon Gielg,
presided and opened the meeting
with the Christmas story and com-
mentary. She explained how
Christmas should be in our homes.
"Christmas Customs in Canada"
was given by Mrs. Harvey Timm.
She told of the different customs of
foreign lands and how they arc atV
jesting themselves as they immi-
grate to Canada, A poem, "There'll
Always Be a Christmas", by Edna
,Jacques was read by the president.
Mrs, William. Wright and Mrs.
Leslie Douglas .demonstrated the
making of chocolates, which were
sampled by all present.
Donations of money were made
for the Children's Aid Society at
Godorich. Jams, jellies and rash
donations were given for the "Good
Cheer" boxes which are to he park-
ed. and distributed to the sick and
slmt-ins of the community. -This
committee consists of Mrs. Thomas
Burke, ;Mrs. William Taylor, Mrs.
Wes Newton and Mrs. Gordon
(ireig.
A report of Summary Day for
"Focus on Finishes", held at Clin-
ton Dee. 5th was given by Mrs. Win.
Wright. Might dresses were on dis-
play, three of these being modeled.
It was suggested that the executive
be in charge of Family Night to be
held in February, The date of the
January meeting is changed to Jan.
9th, it was announced that the
euchre parties will begin early in
january.
Courtesy remarks were given 1-*
Mrs. William Taylor. The rneetint
closed with the poem, "A Little Bb
of Christmas", A delicious lunch
was served by the hostesses, Mrs.
J. Simmons, Mrs. W, Newton and
Mrs, L. Elliott.

chair.
Jim and Mary thatik-ed everyone
and dancing was enjoyed to music

practised law in Toronto for ,many
years, passed away in Toronto on
Saturday, Dee. Rh, She was •the

Susan Brand and spent bOr entire
life in Toronto, She was in her
23rd- year.
