Mrs. Robert W. James
pies in Hospital
Following an illness of three
week. Mrs, Robert W. James died
in' Wingham Hospital. on Tuesday
of last week, She was a resident of
East Wawanosh.
The former Eliza Ann Toman, she
was born 'in 'Gaulborough Township,
Carlton County,. in 1874, a daughter
of the late Joseph Taman and Eliza
Greer. She came to Blyth with her
parents when four years old where
she married Robert James on
March 12,' 1902. She moved in 1906
to the. farm on which she resided
at the. time of her death.
She was predeceased by her hus-
band in 1925. ' Surviving are two
children, Viola, (Mrs. Russell Salt-
er), and Leonard James, at home.
A member of the United Church,
funeral service was conducted by
Rev. T. Garnett Husser on Thurs-
day afternoon with interment' in
Witighami Cemetery,

Cream of Tomato Soup for Four
Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in
the top of a double 'boiler. Stir in 4
tablespoons paatry flour, 1/2 tea-
spoon sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and a
few grains pepper. Blend until
smooth. Gradually stir in 2 cups
tomato juice or canned tomatoes.
Copk over hot water, stirring con-
stantly until thickened, continue
cooking for 15 minutes. Then add 2
cups cold whole milk, all at once.
(Combining ingredients in this way
prevents eurdling). Bring to serving
temperature over hot water,
For variety, a little grated onion
may be added with the tomato
juke.
Children will enjoy it served in
mugs with a little popcorn floating
on top. Other garnishes might in-
clude grated cheddar cheese,
crumbled egg yolk, chopped pars..
