sociation held , its regular' meeting
in the United Church when Mrs.
Spading Johnston presided and
conducted ''devotions, Mrs. Alex
M:cCrackin, gave an encouraging
report of financeS and other items
of businens were discussed. '
The W.M.S.. Meeting was con-
ducted by the president, Mrs. Mil-
ton Fraser, with devotional open-
ing.
The treasurer, Mrs. Snarling
Johnston, reported the Fall Thank_
offering amounted to ,$83.00. There
was a discussion of the. new or-
ganization,' United Church 'Wo-
men, to be .formed' in January 'next.

Mrs. George Webster is a patient

she underwent major surgery on

underwent major surgery in Vic-

children, a Hallowe'en party on Oc-
tober 31st, brought also pre-school
children to enjoy +the games and.
fun at Piluevale school. They came
in. varied disguises. Prizes for cps-
tumes were won by Marcia Hamil-
ton, Joan Hall, Douglas Stone, Bob
by Stone and John Hamilton.

Saturday. Susan, who is attending

WHITECHURCH--- The funeral
of Mrs. Norman Stewart was held
Saturday from the Johnstone fun-
eral home, Lucknow, with inter-
ment in Greenhill cemetery, •
Formerly Jean N, Chubb, daugh-
ter of the late Mr, and Mrs, John
Clubh of Whitechurch, she was
raised in tine village. Over 40 years
ago she married Mr. Stewart,. who,
with one son, John, of Lneknow,
survives.
There are also two sisters, Mrs.
Ada, Ogilvie of Toronto, Mrs. Cora
Harris of. St. Marys and a brother,
Calvin, of London,
