With the 99th Bty.
By R. Edwarde Wormworth
Over 50 gunners, NCO's and of-
ficers were on parade Monday ev-
ening as Lieut. Mellanson inspected
the ranks. Following the inspee.
Lion Battery Sgt.-Major Blackwell
had the men fall out to their re..
spective duties.
With the passage of parades the
recruits have gradually improved in
drest and knowledge. On Monday
evening they concentrated their ef-

The gun crews, and signalers and
drivers are preparing themselves
for the artillery shoot at Medford
a week from. Saturday. This shoot
will be the culmination of the year's
training on the 105 mm, howitzer.
We are confident that the men con-
cerned will come hack with the
words, "good shooting" from the
gun position officers.
At the dismissal parade the com-
manding officer, Major R. P. Rit-
ter, asked for a good .turnout of
militiamen at the Armouries on
Saturday for the services at the
Cenotaph. As well as the parade
the Battery will have four sentries
at the Cenotaph. The men from
Brussels are parading with the
Brussels Legion at their request.
This, is the opportunity to show our
respect to the soldiers who have
made our way of life possible
through .their sacrifice and it is ex-
pected that all Battery members
will turn out. The gunners, are re-
minded that dress is per syllabus
with berets for all ranks except the
sentries', who will wear forage caps.
games and the evening ended with
a candy scramble and ducking for
apples.
