Passes in- 82nd Year
Robert Henry Burgess, who had
suffqed a long illness, passed
away in the Wingham General Hos-
pital on Sunday, Aug. Gth. The
funeral was held the following
Wednesday from the R. A. Currie
& Sons funeral home with Rev,
C. F. Johnson of St. Paul's Angli-
can Church officiating.
Interment was in Wingham
cemetery and the pallbearers were
Harvey Aitcheson, Dr, G. W. How-
son, Gordon Gannett, Roy Manuel,
Harold White and Len Bok. The
flower bearers were Charles Jones
and Eldred Nichol.
Deceased ,was born, in Brussels
31 years ago. His parents were the
!ate Francis and John Burgess.
In 1909 he married Margaret
llenn of Walkerton. The core-
nony Was in London. Mrs. Bur-
gess survives, with a daughter,
Helen (Mrs. Lorne Cornish) of
London, and two sons, Harvey of
Toronto and Walter of Wingham.
There are three grandchildren and
two sisters, Mrs. William Case and
Mrs, Roy Finch, both of Toronto.
Mr. Burgess was a machinist
and woodworker by trade and had
lived retired since 1949.

place in October, 1958. He survives
along with one son, Malcolm, her
parents, two sisters, Mrs, Leslie
(Isabelle) Edwards of London;
Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Dettman
of Howick; one brother, James
'Renwick of Howick and a grand-
I parent, John Fitch of Wroxeter.
Burial was in McIntosh ceme-
tery,
Pallbearers were Jack Inglis,
Walter Renwick ard' Frank-nen-
wick, cousins of the deceased;
Bruce Harkness, Clinton Baker and
Don McDowell.
Friends attended the funeral

DIES AT BRUCE BEACH
Word has been received of the
death of Arthur Wright Feather-
stone, -husband of. Jean Mitchell,
on Tuesday morning, August 15th,
as the result of a heart attack
while taking a morning dip at
South Bruce Beach, Kincardine,
Mr, Featherstone had been in ap-
parent -good health prior to this
time,
The body was found within an
hour by Mrs. Featherstone and
brought- almost to shore, where
neighbors •assisted. and applied ar-
tificial...respiration. .A..ealf was
-made'-to Constable Boyce,',Ontario
Provincial' Police, Kincardine, and,
accompanied by Dr. N, R, Helli-
well, Kincardine, sped to the
scene. Dr. Helliwell pronounced
Mr. Featherstone dead and ruled
out the necessity of an inquest.
Remains were taken to the Mac-
Lennan funeral home at Kincar-
dine and later to the Jerrett fun-
eral home in Willowdale. The ser-
vice was taken by Dr. Beecroft,
formerly of Wingham, on Thurs-
day evening, August 17 at 8 o'clock,
followed by cremation with inter-
ment in Highland Memory Gar-
dens.
