friends and neighbours visited Mr.
and Mrs. George Galbraith when
they celebrated their 55th wedding
anniversary here.
Mr. Galbraith, son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Galbraith, and
Grace Howard, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Howard,
pioneers of Howick Township were
married at the home of the bride
on August 14, 1906, Lifelong resi-

Both are in fair health, active in

Mr, Galbraith still enjoys carpentry

housekeeping and her flower gard-
en.
The rooms were decorated with
green and white ribbon and white
bells and baskets of flowers.
Two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Ed-
ward Galbraith and Mrs. Kenneth
Galbraith poured tea, 'The tea table
was centered with a four-storey
wedding 'cake flanked with green
and whtie 'candles.

August Meeting
LAKELET-- The ladies of the
McIntosh United W.M.S. held their
August meeting in the basement of
the church, Leader Mrs. Leonard
Harper Opened the meeting with
a call to worship from the Mis-
sionary Monthly, followed by a
hymn, Scripture reading was giv-
en by Mrs, Jim Harper.
Readings were given by Mrs.
George Harper, "Across the pro-
vince", and Mrs. Eldon P,enWiek,
"On the EffeetS of Alcohol",
Mrs. Jack Ferguson conducted
the business, The roll call was

itor. Mrs. Clark Renwick had
