sociation met in the United Churnh
on July 6th, Mrs. Sperling Johnston
conducting the meeting, which be-
gan with devotions,
Mrs. Alex IVfeCrackin gave a com-
prehensive report of all business
from the first of the year, including
returns from the June supper.
Plans were discussed for meeting
obligations connected with recent
renovations in the church and
routine business conducted.

ter entertained neighbours, friends
and relatives at a trousseau tea on
Tuesday afternoon and evening of
last week in honour of her daugh-
ter, Ruth, who was married on Sat-
urday.
The house was nicely decorated
with pink and white streamers and
bells, and baskets and 'bouquets of
summer flowers. The guests were
met at the door by Mrs. Procter
and Ruth, and Mrs. Bert Alton,
mother of the bridegroom.
Pouring tea during the afternoon
and evening were Mrs. J. Wilkins,
grandmother of the bridegroom,
and two aunts of the bride, Mrs.
Harold Procter and Mrs. Charles
Hopper. Serving tea during the
afternoon and evening were Mrs.

HIGGINS REUNION
AT STONE SCHOOL
The annual Higgins reunion was
held at the Stone School on Sun-
day with a record attendance of 93.
During the afternoon games and
races were enjoyed by both child-
ren and adults,

ence (was observed in memory of
those who had passed away since
last year's reunion.

Mrs. M. L. Aitken visited at Lis-
towel during the Week.
Mrs. Isabel Yeereans, of Detroit,
who has been visiting her brother,
Dugald Strachan, had the misfor-
tune to break her hip and is in
Wingham General Hospital. Mrs.
Yeomans was at the bortib of Mrs,
W. J. Johnston arid When walking
together they both fell. Mrs. John-
ston received slight injuries.

Detroit, visited their mother, Mrs.
Isabel Yominans, in hospital at the
week-end. •
