ating. Interment was in Fordwich

Mrs. James Leddy had charge of
the chapter in the study book
"Turning World." it was decided
to knave the July meeting later
than usual on account of the wed-
ding. Murray Thompson received
the offering. After singing "Jesus
Shall Reign," the meeting was
clesed with all repeating the
"Shepherd's Psalm" together.
Mrs, Edward Robinson gave the
financial report and also conducted
the sale of "myatery, parcels" for
the Ala, There was no pro-
gram clue to -the absence of the
president. Laineh was ,served by the
hostess assisted by Mrs, Sara
Thompson and Mrs. William Hardy.

Hon, W. A. Goodfellow, minister.
of agriculture, has announced that
a. milk composition study will be
undertaken immediately by the On-
tario Department of Agriculture.
The study, requested by the dairy
industry, will concern itself initially
with the protein content of Ontario
milk from which solids-not-fat con-
tent may be easily established.
Making the announcement Mr.
Goodfellow said that he considered
the project was of the utmost im-
portance to the dairy industry and
that the findings of the study
-could result in a new mathpd of
pricing milk in Ontario and pos-
sibly open up new -approaches to
the breeding of dairy cattle.
Surveys made in other countries
indicate that the protein content
of milk is subject to wide. varia-
tions and that it has been demon-
strated that the protein content, is
largely a hereditary factor. It is
felt that protein percentages can
be iMprOVed by selective -breeding,'
Protein is not only -essential nu-
tritionally, but is important as Well
from the standpoint of manufac-
