HOLD AUCTION AT
INSTITUTE MEETING
WROXETER—Mrs. Thos. Burke
opened her home for the June
meeting of the Women's Institute
on Tuesday evening when thirteen
members attended. First vice-presi-
dent, Mrs. Jos. Simmons, acted in
the absence of Mrs. Gordon Greig.
Thank you notes were read and do-
nations were received. The roll call
was answered by either a current
event or your favourite subject at
school. The Hoeni Economics Ser-
vice program was discussed. A
committee of Mrs. T. 13drke and
Mrs. Howard Wylie was appointed
to attend to the flower bed at the
cemetery, a yearly project of the
Institute. Three dollars was voted
to the "Pennies of Friendship
Fund." The Wroxeter Institute
along with the Gorrie Institute
voted to take the month of July to
provide the birthday party for the
inmates of the Huron County Home
at Clinton. Mrs, Wm. Wright and
Mrs, T.. Burke make up the coin-
mittee to plan this event.

Griffith at their home last Wed-
nesday evening on the occasion of
their golden wedding anniversary.

We are happy to see Mr. Jas,
Allen ,back to the village for the
summer months again.

prise Mr. and Mrs. Griffith en-
joyed a very happy get-together
with their friends and neighbors
and we sincerely wish them-many

Mrs. H. Gilmour and Mrs. Geo.
Day were in charge of the June
6th meeting of St. Andrew's WO-
men's Missionary Society,
A 'poem, "Daybreak," was read
by the president, Miss C. Gilkinsmi,
and the Scripture lesson from the
Acts of the (Apostles, read by Miss
C. Isbister, records the working of
the Holy Spirit in the lives of men.
Prayers were offered by Mrs. W.
Lapp and Mrs. Gordon Godkin,
Continuing the study, this
month's topic was "Into All the
World with the Younger Churches,"
Mrs. Day and Mrs. Gilmour out-
lined the progress being made in
foreign fields, particularly in the
way these new believers, as soon
as they are able, are taking over
responsibility for the , church in
their awn lands.
Mrs. A. Homuth closed the meet-
ing with prayer.
