Sunday, June 4, at 11 am, and 8
p.m., and the WMS will entertain
the ladies of the .diffierent auxil-
iaries of the WMS on Monday in
the church at 8 p.m.

holding their field day at St. Au-
gustine school on Friday.

wanosh :councillor, is a patient in
Wingham Hospital,

Brognor on Thursday, where they

trict Annual. Mrs. IVEcCosh is the
Grey:Bruce convention chairman,
On Friday they attended the meet-
ing of the Grey South district at
'Holstein and on Tuesday attended
the district annual for Bruce North
at Purple Valley.
Mrs. Wm, T. Irwin attended the
trousseau tea held in honor of Miss
Joan Thomas at her home in Brus-
sels on 'Saturday and Mr. and Mrs.
Wm, T. Irwin and Murray visited
with Mr. and Mrs, Frank Alcock at
Brussels on Sunday.

Don't overlook dry atmosphere as
a cause for house plant failure.
Besides being injurious to the
plants themselves, dryness invites
such insect pests as red spider mite,
fern scale and thrips. A simple
humidifier (a pan of water on
radiator) will help, although this
seldom provides enough moisture
in the winter. Spray the plants oc-
casionally with slightly warm
water.

Keep these 10 points in mind
when your sows are close to far-
rowing. Dr. Howard Neely of the
Ontario Veterinary College sug-
gests them, and even one of them
might save a pig,
Feed the sow a mixture of half
bran and half her regular ration
'a few days before farrowing.
Scrub 'farrowing quarters with a
solution of 1 pound lye to 20 gal-
lons of water.
Scatter finely chopped beddin g
around the pen.
Wash the sow with sotto and
water.
Stay with the sow and help her
during farrowing if needed.
Help the pigs to nurse, if neces-
sary.

Use a heat lamp to prevent chill-
ing.
Give no feed, only water to the
sow on farrowing clay.
After farrowing, feed the sow
limited an-wants of half ration and
half bran for 2 to 3 days. Then
gradually start 'to increase feed.
Put her on full feed in about 10
days.
