Beigrave Cubs
Belgrave Wolf Cubs, in their us-
ual happy form, met on Tuesday
evening in the community hail
with a good attendance. Before
the 'meeting the boys played some
games outside, and then marched
smartly into the hall for opening
ceremonies,
Leader Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler
was in charge and Tommy Black
led in the Grand Howl. 'This was
followed by the Cub prayer and
salute.
During inspection It was found
that some ears and claws needed
a bit 0 a scrub. Nearly all the
Cubs attended chureh or Sunday
School. White Slyer Malcolm
Anderson got his pennant on the
Totem Pole,
The New Chums stayed inside to
prepare for investiture, Upon
testing, Akela found that all were
ready to be taken into the Pack.
The ceremony took place outside,
when each of the New Chums re-
peated the Cub- Law and made the
solemn Cub promise "To do my
best". Net Chums Invested were
Larry 1.obinson, Gordon ainn,
Wayne Hopper, Brian Jamieson,
Owen 'Pear, Clayton Bosnian, and
.jimmy Beecroft. These boys can

Work for their First Star.
The older Cubs spent the Meet-
ing time Out of doors and they
had to keep busy because of the
brisk wind. They did semaphos'e
signalling and played a Semaphore
game. The game, "Akela Says",
was played and son of the Cubs
did their good 'deeds by paying the
leader's forfeits.
Richard Anderson earned his-
First Star and Nell Vincent earn-
ed his collector's and toy maker's
hedges.
There seems to be a race among

SCHEDULE DRAWN FOR
HURON USE
Ivan and Lorne Gardner, of
Wingham, and Jim Coultes, of Bel-
grave, attended a meeting of man-
agers and coaches in Clinton on
Tuesday evening for the purpose of
drawing up a schedule for the
Huron Softball League. The league
is made up of teams from Wing-
barn, Beigrave, Exeter and Hensall.
Douse Thorndyke convened the
meeting,
All 13elgrave's home games will
be played in Wingham and when
Belgrave is the visiting team for
Exeter's home games, the matches
will be held in Hensall at 8.30.
Game time is at 8.80 0.1n„ except
when played on the Exeter dia-
mond. The opening time then will
be 1.15.
The series opens with 'Wingham
ineetine' Belgrave in the local nark
this Saturday night at 8.:10 and on
Tuesday night of next week, May
30, Exeter will play the Wingham
