Golf Course
The Golf Club opens Wednesday,.
May 17th. At onp o'clock there will
be a two ball foursome and at 3.30
men's nine hole tournament. Supper
will be served at 5.30 at the club
house.

Mrs. 4Cordon Naylor read a poem,
"Simplicity". "Happy- the Home
when 'God Is There" was sung and
Mrs. Wesley Jefferson read an ar-
ticle of Christian stewardship.
Mrs. William Hardy read.a chap:
ter 'from the study book, "New
Nations with 'Old Problems". Mrs.
Stuart Chamney read the minutes
of the previous Meeting. Several
matters of ',business were discussed.
Mrs. Tom Armstrong and Mrs.
Hilliard Jefferson were nominated
to 'be the prayisional committee for
"The United -Church Wornen".
Susan Thompson'received the of-
fering. After singing "Fight the
Good 'Fight with All Thy Might"
Mrs. Woods closed the meeting
with prayer. •
Ladies' Aid
Mrs. Stuart Chamney opened the
Ladies' Aid meeting with the hymn
"Take My Life. and Let. It Be". A
Psalm was read in unison. Mrs.
James Leddy gave, a reading,
Thought for the Day". Mrs. Hil-
liard Jefferson gave the financial
report. -.After singing "just As I

Chainney cloSed the Meeting with
all repeating the Lord's *prayer.
A bazaar was held at'the close of
the meeting in aid of the supply
'committee. Mrs. Sam Thompson
was hostess for lunch, 'assisted by
Mrs. Morley Johnston and Mrs.
John Thompson. Mrs. Morley
Johnston invited the ladies to her
home for the June meeting.

Scoutmaster Alton Adams was in
charge when the Scouts gathered
at the :Scout House tor 'their regu-
lar meeting last Wednesday night.
The Buffalos, under the direction
of P.L. Jim English, were duty
patrol.
Patrol•Leaders Jahn Bennett and
Phillip Adams gave a lecture on
tent .pitching and instructed the
bays as they put up two hell tents
on 'tire grounds,

Nesmith, Charles -Congram, Robert
Beattie, Carry Stokes and David
Wenger were given instructions .on
the basic techniques of artlfiCial
respiration in the Scout House by
Bob 'McIntyre, who will be the
supervisor at the pool this sum-
mer. These boys will have an-
other session- with Bob on Wednes-
day night and on Saturday morn-
ing, and will -demonstrate on Sat-
urday afternoon at the town hall

on building seven fireplaces on the
grounds, to be used at this week's
