Ladies Guests at
Ripley Meeting
Thirteen ladies of the Wingham
Legion Auxiliary attended .a meet-
ing of the Ripley Auxiliary in that
village on Thursday night. There
were also four guests from Luck-
now, two from Howick and, .the
zone commander, Mrs. William Me,*
Cann, who was making her official
visit,
The president, Corn. Anne Mason,
conducted the business meeting.
This was followed by a social per-
iod when contests and a penny
auction were held.
The Ripley ladies served a de-
licious buffet lunch, complete with
birthday cake and all ,gnests joined
in wishing the Ripley branch a
happy birthday.
Bowlers' Euchre
The lawn bowlers held a euchre
In the -council chambers on Mon-
day evening with 16 tables in play.
The high lady was Mrs. Jean
Crump; high lady playing as a man
Mrs, William Haney; Joint t! inrii-
gen won the prise for high man
and William Kennedy, second prize.
Mrs. Horace Aitchison won the
draw prize.

the weekly meeting at the Scout
Hall on Wednesday night.
Patrol -Leader John Bennett, of
the Cougars, ciAanized a game of
capture the flag, not for patrol
competition, but with the entire
group divided into two teams, The
team flags were set on either side
of the road, surrounded by guards.

were disqualified for sneaking their
opponents' flag into a boat and
rowing well out of reach of the
fully dressed Scouts.

Battery members 'are reminded
that the dress for the parade will
be battle dress and berets for all
ranks. The picinc will be held at
the Turnberry Park. Although re-
freshments will he provided mem-
bers will have to supply transpor-
tation for non-military personnel,

vision is needed.
