Rion Circles of the Baptist Church
held a joint meeting on Thursday
at the church with Mrs. R. Kil-
patrick' presiding, After the open-
ing hymn "We've. a Story to Tell
to the Nations", and prayer, let-
ters from Missionaries Laura. Col-
lat. and Mrs. Cairns were read by
Mrs. P. Collar. A vocal number
was presented by a mixed quartet,
and the Scripture was read by Mrs.
H. Stokes, who also led in prayer.
After the singing of the hymn
"Send the Light", Misses Ruth and
Helen Hotchkiss sang a duet.
'Mrs. Stainton was asked to in-
troduce. Wilson Ewen, the guest
speaker for the evening, Mr. Ewen
spoke of his work as a missionary
in the province of Quebec and also
showed a number of interesting
slides. He painted out that if the
present trend of political disunity
continues in Quebec the way will
be open for eeminunism, As' has
been the case in Haiti, the men of
Quebec are turning their hacks on
religion while the women are re-
maining steadfast in religious prac-
tices.
He also noted that in the past
eight years there has been a gen-
eral wakening among the masses
of French Canadians.. If the truth
of the gospel of the Lord Jesus
Christ is not presented. to these
people, who are seeking for' a sat-
isfactory answer to life's problems,
they will become likely prey to
communism. As things stand now,
