WITITECHTJRCH -- The regular
meeting of WMS of Calvin-Brick
United Church was held on Wed-
nesday last at the home of Mrs.
Clarence Chameey with 19 ladies
present and Mrs. Alex. Robertson
presiding. She gave the call to wor-
ship, with the theme. "His Hour,"
Mrs. Robertson led in prayer.
Mrs. Lloyd Whytock, Mrs. Alex.
Leaver, Mrs. Edwin Smyth, Mrs.
Norman Coultes and Mrs. Robert-
son assisted with the meditation
period. ]fits. George McGee gave a
talk on citizenship, and a report
on. Sabbath recreation, Mrs. Robert-
soh held a questionnaire on Bible
study and led in the Lord's prayer.
A panel consisting of Mrs. Gil-
bert Beecroft, Mrs. N. Coultes,
Mrs. Lawrence. Taylor and Mrs.
Alex Robertson discussed and an-
swered questions on the new United
Church womeres group, Several
ladies who had attended the WMS
Presbyterial in Wingham, gave in-
teresting reports.
Mts. Coultes, president, presided
for the business Meeting, The ladies
decided to use some of the special
fund Of the church for the Sun-
shine and Cheer Fund. They deeid-
ed to hold their special thank-
foffering Meeting in June. Mrs. Mc-
Gee, Mrs. Mason Robinson and
Mrs. Chamney were to procure a
Speeker. Votes Were taken for the
new provisional committee for the
WA and the next meetireg will he

At ' Council Meeting
WHITECHURCH — Mrs. George
Fisher, Mrs, Russell Ross, Mrs.
Garnet Farrier and Mrs. Victor
Emerson attended the Kinloss
council meeting on Monday at Kin-
lough, and the council agreed to
assist in the installation of the
water system in the Memorial hail

FOR RECREATION
WHITECHURCH---A good repre-
sentation of interested folk in this
community met in the Memorial
hall on Monday evening to organize
committees for baseball and other
summer recreation. In the absence
of the president, Thomas Morrison,
Mrs. Victor Emerson presided.
Midget and bantam groups of this
community were champions last
year and William Henry, treasurer,
reported $47.00 on hand. They decid-
ed to enter four teams this year
in the WOAA with a $10.00 fee for
each class.
The following officers were elect-
ed: President, Thomas Morrison;
1st vice, David McDonald; secre-
tary-treasurer, Keith- Colyer; as-
sistant. John Aiteheson; committee
board, 'William Henry, E, W. Bee-
croft, Wesley Tiffin and Mrs. D.
Willis; the managers: Juvenile
tntm, Joseph Tiffin, Mrs. Cecil
Falconer; bantams and pee wees,
William Purdon, E. W. Beecroft,
Keith Colyer, David. McDonald;
grounds committee, Victor Emer-
son, Earl Caslick, Ronald Bee-
croft, Wayne Farrier, John. Willis
and Joseph Tiffin.
The teams decided to have a pro-
gram and dance on May 12 with
Mrs. Willis, Mrs. H. W. Beecroft,
William Purdon and Leroy Rin-
toul also on a progtam committee,
Field day will be held on May 22,
when the Women's Institute will be
in charge of races and booths.
