nesday, which was held at the On-
tario Agricultural College, Guelph.
The -Guelph area convention of
Institutes will be held at the
O.A.C. on Sept. 28th and 29th. The
theme of the meeting 'will be citi-
zenship.
Mr. Jack Doig of St, Catharines
spent the week-end with his par-
ents, Mr .and Mrs. Ross Doig,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bricker and
family of Baden spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Moore.
Mrs. Howard Harris and Mrs.
Stan Bride attended the Women's
Institute meeting of the Moncrief
branch, Mrs. Harris, district of-
ficer, installed the officers foe 1961.

family visited Sunday in Galt. Mr.
George Moss returned home af-
ter spending three weeks here.

FORDWICH--- The April meeting
of St. Anne's Guild was held at
the home of Mrs. William Sothern
with the vice-,president, Mrs. jack
King, presiding. The hymn "Abide
with. Me" opened the meeting, fol-
lowed by the Lord's prayer,
Mrs, Lyle Simmons read the
Scripture lesson and Mrs, Bruce
Armstrong was in charge of the
study brook. Eighteen members
and two visitors answered the roll
call with a verse with the word
"rejoice".
The Guild wilt assist with the
linnet on Saturday, May 6th when
the Junior Auxiliary group holds
its spring rally in Trinity Church,
Fordwich. An invitation will be
sent to the W.A. to be guests of
the Guild at the. May meeting:
which will be held- in the church,
Mrs. Attwell closed the meeting
with prayer,
Mrs. Daunt conducted several
contests and the remainder of the
evening was Spent quilting. Lunch
was served by the hostess, assisted
by Mrs. -Roy Simmons.

Mrs, V, Adair Dies
In Victoria 1-'iosp.
Mrs, Catherine Adair, widow of
Victor Adair, passed away on Ap-
ril 19 in Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, She was a daughter of the
late John and Catherine Suther-
land and was born at Beaverton,
December 1, 1891.
She attended school at Argyle,
Ont., and on April 16, 1616 was
to Mr, Adair at Orillia.
They moved to Molesworth` in 1940
and came ,to Wingharn in 1955.
Her husband passed away the fol-
lowing year,

stitute met in the community hall
for the annual "family night"
which was held in the form of a
pot luck smorgasbord. As a roll
call the husbands paid the wives'
fees for a year,
Mrs, -Robert Gibson, secretary-
treasurer, read the' reports and
correspondence. Mr. and Mrs.
Burke of Wroxeter showed films
of their •trip to Bermuda, the Un-
ited Kingdom, Belgium, Italy and.
Switzerland. They were very in-
teresting and in' beautiful color,
showing quaint costumes, market
places with merchandise of every
kind. Mrs, Anson Demerling pre-
sented Mr. and Mrs. Burke with
a gift.

until her health failed,
Surviving are her daughters,
::Misses Joan and. Doris, Adair of
Winghem, Mary (Mrs. Albert Ait-
ken) of London,. Helen (Mrs. Colin

son, Jack Adair of Molesworth..
One son predeceased her in 1928.
She is also survived by four 'bre-

and Alex and Hugh of Richlia,
Sask. There are tea grandchildren.
