water, was the scene of a pretty
wedding on Saturday, April 8th, at
12 o'clock noon, when Edith Louise
Pennington, daughter of Mr,'•and
Mrs, J. Cart Pennington and Harold
Stanley Schmidt, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Schmidt, of Harriston,

officiated at the double -ring cere-
many,
The bride wore a floor -Length
gown of nylon lace over slipper
satin, with fitted bodice, sabrina
neckline dotted with seed pearls
and irisdescent sequins, Iilypoint
sleeves and wide isle bouffant skirt
with overlay of lace and tiny
ruffles with full plain net to hem-
line. Her crown of seed pearls. and
sequins heldher veil of double tulle
illusion accented in pearls, She
carried a crescent of pints roses
and white carnations with white
satin streamers.
The bride was attended by her
sister, Mrs. Irene. Hayden, of Ger-
rie, as matron of honor and was
attired in a gown of turquoise
French embroidered chiffon over

Litany. Mrs. E. Hargrave read
a poem written by a former resi-
dent of Ftirdwich. Miss Frances
Lemon. Mrs, Elsa. Strong also read
a. short story,
Rev, Attwell closed the meeting
and Mrs. Bruce Sothern was in
charge of the social program. Rev.
Attwell, with an illustration, spoke
to the ladies on the beginning of
the Anglican Church. Mrs. Seth -
ern then conducted several con-
tests.
