We notice that the Murray Bay
grain ship, on which Eldon Em-
erson and John McKenzie, 2nd
mate, left from Midland last Thurs-
day, was the first boat to make
its way 'through 15 miles of shore
ice into the Lakehead ports of
Port Arthur and Fort William,
They were closely followed by two
others.' The Murray Bay, a new
boat last year, is over 700 feet long
and ice 'breakers had been at work
at the northern ports.
Mrs. William Reavie and son,
Stephen, of Uxbridge is spending
two weeks with' her parents, Mr,
and Mrs. James Davis of Brus-
sels, and with' his mother, Mrs,
Rutherford Reavie. Mr. Rcavie is
taking the two weeks' course in
the Hydro Training School at Ni-
agara Falls.
The Robinson families with .rela-
tives in Coderich, Lucknow, and
Wingham and neighbours on the
9th gathered last Thursday even-
ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Mason Robinson to have a social
evening together and to celebrate
the birthday of their sister, Mrs.
Leonard Coyne of Windsor and to
surprise Lawrence Taylor, on. his
birthday. Mrs. Coyne and her
children returned to Windsor on
