Francis S. B. Wright
Passes Suddenly
WROXETER Francis S. B.
Wright, a resident of RR. 1,
Wroxeter, died suddenly at his
home early Saturday morning.
Mr. Wright was born 75 years
ago in the Township of Irresville,
a son, of Thomas Wright and Vi-
ola Wonch. He was educated there
and came to this district in 1907,
where he took up farming.
On March 9, 1910 he married
Margaret Bell at the home of 'her
I parents, on the 12th of Howick.
They had three children, two of
whom survive, Harvey of RR. 1,
Wroxeter and 'Kenneth of Wroxet-
er. A third son died in infancy.
Also surviving are three sisters,
Mrs. Fanny Werner of Florida:
Mrs. Bernice Graham and Mrs.
Gladys Copeland, both of Cooks-
town; nine grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren. Three
brothers and a sister predeceased
him.
Mr. Wright was a member of
Gorrie United Church. Rev. Clarke
officiated on Monday when funeral
service was held from the Moir
funeral home at two o'clock and
burial was in the Gorrie ceme-
tery. The pallbearers were Wil-
liam Klaholz, Ernest Wylie, Mel-
vin Finlay, Bert Hubbard, George
Hubbard and Tom Sangster. Car-
rying the floral tributes were Jack
Sangster, Bert Wylie, Robert Krel-
ler, Robert Woods, John McElwain
and Jack Inglis.

MUSIC SUPERVISOR
.A. delightful social function was
held on Wednesday, at the -home
of Mrs. R. D. Munro, Auburn, when
the teachers of Bast Wawanosh
Township met to honor Mrs. Mur-
ray McDowell, their music super-
visor, who with her family has
moved recently to Cookstown.
Considerable merriment was
created when some very original
telegrams were composed -from the
Letters in Blaine's name. These
were entered along with the other
contests of the evening in SOU-
venir booklet.
Mrs. Walter Woods read a coin-
alimentary address and Mrs. Sid-
ney Lansing, on behalf of the
teachers, presented Mrs. McDowell
with & lawn chair.
Mrs. McDowell is 'an outstanding
music supervisor and -for twelve
years she served in East Wawa-
nosh, vdiere she will be greatly
missed.
During the evening corsages were
also presented to three other
teachers, Mrs. M, Holland, Mrs. It.
D, Munro and Mrs, Walter Wood.,
who are leaving schools in East
Wawanosh.
Mrs. Munro, assisteid by Mrs.
Lansing, served refreshments.

The bride, with her sister, Mrs.

from which were suspended, con-
fetti-filled balloons over the seat
of honor,
Gladys McDonald read an address
of good wishes and Shirley was
presented with many gifts. Assist-
ing in opening them besides Mrs.
Johnston and Mrs. Trafelet were
Mrs, Keith Cranston, Gladys Mc-
Donald, Judy Wardell and Marlene
Martin.
Mrs. Trafelet expressed her
thanks and all joined in singing
"For She's a jolly Good Fellow".
"Happy Birthday" was sung in
honor of Mrs. George Cranston for
her 85th birthday and for Mrs.
Laura McNeil, who was also cele-
brating a birthday. A pleasant

Is Almost Complete
BELMORE The 4-H Home-
making Club were guests of the
Women's Institute at the meeting
on Thursday evening.
Nancy Elliott and Connie Cathers
were introduced by Nellie deGroot,
They gave a splendid demonstra-
tion of how to cook swiss steak,
and tenderizing it by cooking it
slowly in tomato juice. The 4-H
girls exhibited their record books
and recipe files. Much credit is due
to their leaders, Mrs. Oscar Kief-
fer and Mrs. Fred Doubledee.
The roll call for the meeting was
"A 'favorite meat dish". Mrs. John
Rutherford gave the motto "Don't
let -your waist line vanish".
Mrs. R. T. Appleby gave a short
report of the district annual which
was held in Lucknow in June. A
project for putting safety tape on
all bicycles in Bruce County was
almost completed before school
stopped. Approximately 2,500 bi-
2ycles were done at an estimated
cost of about $700,00.
At the business meeting thank
you cards were read, and plans
were made for catering for a wed-
ding late in July. For lunch the
girls served a sample of their swiss
steak in a bun, and the conveners
served home-made cookies.
There will be no meeting in
August, and Mrs. Victor Emerson,
the new district president, will be
a guest at the September meeting,

Circle School, Part of the money used for the pur-

ing a bone in her hip.

for a few days last week, suffering
from a virus,
Mr. Joe Foran has his arm in a
cast as a result of a haying acci-
dent on Saturday afternoon. He
was threading the haler when the
mishap occurred, fracturing a bone
between his elbow and shoulder.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Sherwood
of Detroit, and Mr. and Mrs, Jack
Alexander, of Kitchener, were
visitors during the week-cad with
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Gaunt.

daughter, Ruth, whose marriage to
Dan Rose took place on Saturday.

Kincardine, and Miss June Hatt, of
Lions Head.

Has 90th Birthday
WROXETER--Mrs. Agnes Mc-
Donald of Beck Memorial Sanitar-
ium, one of Wroxe,er's most lov-
ed older citizens, celebrated her
90th birthday at the home of her
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frieda Mc-
Donald, London.
Mrs. McDonald was born July
14th, 1870, near Lindsay, and with
her father, mother and three bro-
thers, pioneered near Novar in the
north country.
In 1897 she married George Mc-
Donald. Their farm was two miles
east of Morrisbank on Highway
86, where she resided for many
years.
Mrs. McDonald has three. sons,
11 grandchildren and 23 great-
grandchildren.
She still has good health and
takes an interest in everything
around her. Her hobbies are
chiefly knitting. We wish her
many more happy birthdays and
good health.
Relatives were present from
Jamestown, Auburn, Toronto and
Orillia to attend the celebration.

reunion was 'held in Moorefield
Park on Sunday with approximate-
