A story was read by Mrs. Jack Wilson. Races and games were conducted by Mrs. Robt. Gibson with prizes awarded. Gibson reunion Sunday in Listowel Park, Master Ricky Gibson re- turned home with them after spending two weeks with his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Don King visited Sunday with the latter's father, Mr. Jim Pitch, who is confined to Victoria Hospital in London. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Gibson and family of Flint, Michigan, were week-end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Wally Gibson. Mr, and Mrs. Don King were guests at the wedding of a cousin in Underwood on Saturday. Miss Beatrice Wade is spending two weeks with friends in North- ern Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Wallace and little son of Campbellville visited over the week-end with Mr, and Mrs. Harper Wood. Miss Rona VanVelsor is spend- ing this week in Toronto and Oshawa with relatives. The Orange and Lady Lodges from Fordwich and Newbridge attended the 12th of July cele- brations held in Brussels, The Baby Band and Mission Band picnic of the Fordwich United Church was held on the church grounds Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Ruby Forester returned to Toronto over the week-end after spending three weeks at her home here. Mrs. Lorne Siefert is spending several days in Wroxeter with her mother, Mrs. Mary Gibson, who IS ill. We welcome the new barber, Mr. J. Andari of Clinton to Fordwich. He will be opening his shop on Thursday, Several Showers For Miss Johnston FORDWIGH—Mrs, Mel Allan and Mrs.' Wray Cooper entertained at the latter's home in honor of Miss Marlene Johnston, whose marriage takes place this month. The bride-elect was given a mis- cellaneous 'shower. Games and contests were conducted during the evening and lunch was served by the hostess. . An aunt of the bride also tender- ed her a cup, and saucer shower at their summer home, Oliphant Beach, near Wiarton and a linen shower was given her at Listowel by her gaandmother, Mrs. Cliff Johnston. MRS. STANLEY BRIDE CONDUCTS MEETING FORDWICH---The July meeting of the Fordwich United Church W.M.S. was held in the church with Mrs. Stanley Bride in charge. Mrs. Crosby Sothern read the min- utes. Roll call was answered with a thought on talents. Lindsay Galbraith is the shut-in for this month. Prayer was offer- ed by Mrs, George Richards and Mrs. James Warrell dedicated the offering. Mrs. Cecil Wilson gave a talk on racial prejudice and dis- cussion followed, led by Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Harold Pollock, and Mrs. Anson Ruttan, Mrs. Royden Devitt, as leader of the worship service, read the story of four men, white, yellow, brown and black, all expecting to see the King in their colour, but when he appeared they all saw a shining light the same colour to all. Mrs. George Richards read the Scripture and Mrs. Devitt closed the meeting. Robert Robertson in Milton, Mrs, Robert Taylor of Ilderton and Mr. and Mrs. Glenford Rose of Seaforth visited a couple of days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Crosby Sotheran.
