FORDWICH—Members of the
Fordwich Women's Institute, num-
bering 35, enjoyed a bus trip to
London on Thursday, arriving at
the Coca Cola plant at 10.30 a.m.
They were shown all the details
of how this popular drink is made
and were treated to a bottle of
coke and a souvenir rain hat,
They proceeded to Story Book
Gardens at Springbank Park, where
they ate dinner, Early in the
afternoon they toured the London
Free Press and saw how a daily
paper is put together, which was
indeed interesting, At 3.15 p.m.
they were received at the post
office by Director Howard, who
showed proceedings from the time
a letter is dropped into the mail
box until it is in the locked bag
for the place of destination, and
how it is sorted for the city mail
carriers.

Several Showers
For Miss Johnston
FORDWIGH—Mrs, Mel Allan and
Mrs.' Wray Cooper entertained at
the latter's home in honor of Miss
Marlene Johnston, whose marriage
takes place this month.
The bride-elect was given a mis-
cellaneous 'shower. Games and
contests were conducted during the
evening and lunch was served by
the hostess. .
An aunt of the bride also tender-
ed her a cup, and saucer shower
at their summer home, Oliphant
Beach, near Wiarton and a linen
shower was given her at Listowel
by her gaandmother, Mrs. Cliff
Johnston.

CONDUCTS MEETING
FORDWICH---The July meeting
of the Fordwich United Church
W.M.S. was held in the church
with Mrs. Stanley Bride in charge.
Mrs. Crosby Sothern read the min-
utes. Roll call was answered with
a thought on talents.
Lindsay Galbraith is the shut-in
for this month. Prayer was offer-
ed by Mrs, George Richards and
Mrs. James Warrell dedicated the
offering. Mrs. Cecil Wilson gave
a talk on racial prejudice and dis-
cussion followed, led by Mrs.
Wilson, Mrs. Harold Pollock, and
Mrs. Anson Ruttan, Mrs. Royden
Devitt, as leader of the worship
service, read the story of four
men, white, yellow, brown and
black, all expecting to see the King
in their colour, but when he
appeared they all saw a shining
light the same colour to all.
Mrs. George Richards read the
Scripture and Mrs. Devitt closed
the meeting.
Robert Robertson in Milton,
Mrs, Robert Taylor of Ilderton
and Mr. and Mrs. Glenford Rose
of Seaforth visited a couple of days
last week with Mr. and Mrs.
Crosby Sotheran.
Friends will be sorry to hear
