LADIES' DOUBLES
Last Wednesday afternoon the
ladies held a local doubles tourna-
ment in which eleven rinks par-
ticipated.
The winners of this event were:

CANADIAN QUEST PATROL
Ten Canadian Boy Scouts, one
from each province, will form a
guest patrol at the 5th National
Jamboree of the Boy Scouts of
America at Colorado Springs next
July 22 to 28, They will meet in
Ottawa on June 27th, and fly to
Memphis, Tennessee, on June 29.
Prior to the Jamboree the Cana-
dians will be guests in the homes of
American Scouts and, will attend
the Jamboree as members of Am-
erican Troops, In charge of the
guest patrol will be Dennis Odoyek,
'Assistant Scoutmaster of the 24th
Ottawa (Elmsdale) Troop, a Second
year: ;science student at Carleton

Golf Bridge
There were seven tables at Thurs-
day's bridge game at the Wingham
Golf Club. The winners were. 1st,
Mrs. W. F. Burgman; 2nd, Mrs. G.
N. Underwood; consolation, Mrs. C.
A. Roberts. Mrs. C. B. Armitage

On Saturday night Wingham
made it two straight over the Bel-
rave boys as Belgrave played their
home game in Wingham, by a
score of 7-0.
Belgrave, playing a good brand
of ball, Seemed to lack the little
extra attack to defeat Wingham. •

SUNOCOS CLINCH
IN EXTRA INNINGS
Wingham defeated the Belgrave
intermediate softball team 5-4 last
Wednesday on the Wingham .dia-
mond in a game that went two
extra innings.
Wingham scored singles in the
first and third innings to take a
2-0 lead, Belgrave put on power
and came back in the fourth frame
for four runs to take a 4-2 lead.
The scoring stood as such until
the bottom of the seventh when
Wingham had the bases loaded and
Ken Gregg slammed a double into
deep centre for two runs.
At the end of the ninth stanza
the score remained deadlocked in
a 4-4 tie, forcing the teams into
extra innings. The break came
for the Sunocos in the eleventh
inning when Jim Coultes, pitching
for Belgrave turned in a fine per-
formance for the Belgrave teat*
but allowed Jim Bain to slam one
dnto left field with. the bases load-
ed, to bring in B. Fryfogle from
third for the clincher.
