Mrs. T. McGlement
Dies in 87th Year
0011111/0—Martha Jane Gibson,
widow of. the late Thomas M:Cle-
ment, passed away early Monday
morning. In the Listowel Hospital,
She was in her .87th year.
She had been a resident of con-
cession 3, Titmice, the greater part
of her life and was a member of
the Fordwleh United Church.
Surviving are one son, Thomas
McGiernent, concession a Howiek
and one daughter, Mrs. Cameron
(Janet/ Stewart of Moreeworth,
with, whom she had been residing.
There are 11 grandchildren .and
nine great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be from the
Moir funeral 'home on Wednesday
at 2 p.m., with the Rev. W, J, S.
McClure officiating. Interment will.
be in Fordwich cemetery.

GORRIE—The 30th Cochrane and
Newbigging reunion was held in
Listowel Park on Friday. Over
75 attended from Listowel, Atwood,
Ethel, Brussels, Gorrie, Moles-
worth, Wingham, Galt, Paris,
Weston, Elora Moose Jain,. and Eye-
brow, Sack,
The sports committee for Ibis
year was Mr. and Mrs; William
Stratychuck of Brussels, Mr. and
Mrs, William Strong, Gorrie, and
Mr, and Mrs, Bruce Cochrane,
Paris. They were commended on
their wonderful variety of contests
and races. The oldest person at-

Huron Federation of Agrienature,
concerning the county policy was
read by the secretary. Simon
Hanel-um thanked the president and
the directors,-for the flowers and
their kind expressions of sympathy
at the time of Mrs. Hallaharee
death,
The hog marketing policy was
discussed, Mr, Ireland discussed the
TV clinic which will be held in
Huron the 'end of July and the be-
ginning of Most. He gave each
director a. kit and they will can-
vass their own school section. It
is hoped that everyone will avail
themselves of the opportimity to
attend the clinic in their own lo-
cality.
The Huron County churah service
is to be held at the United Church
summer camp at Qoderieh on July
10th at 3 pm., with 'Rev. 3aren de
Vries, of Exeter, as guest minister,
The Wingham Salvation, Army
band with members of the Junior
Farmers' choir will lead the sing-
ing. Ladies are requested :to bring
lunch of 'sandwiches, cake, tarts or

Wives of the Ontario Rural Hy-
dro staff met one evening last
week at the home of Mrs. H. Mc-
Arthur, Boland Street, to honor
Mrs. Alan Underwood and Mrs,
B. S. Gauley, prior to 'their de-
parture from Wingham: There
were 22 present.
Mr. and Mrs. Underwood left
on Friday for Uxbridge, where he
has been transferred with the For-
estry Division, and Mrs. Gainey
will be moving to Owen Sound,
where her husband was transferred
recently with the line crew of the
Rural Hydro,
Cards were played during tine
evening with 'Mrs. Gauley winning
first prize and Mrs. j_ C. McIn-
tyre, second.
Mrs. 'Stewart Forsyth presented
Mrs. Gauley with a met of bathroom
scales end MrsaRoes Gordon made
the presentation of a ' hassock to
Mrs. Underwood, elite from the
wives. Mrs. Jack Higgins, on be-
half of the entire staff, presented
Mrs. C, Cl, Higgins, the former
Wilda Agar, with a blanket in
honor of her recent marriage. All
the revipients expressed their grati-
tude.
The hostess was assisted in serv-

Lake Steamer
Jack Archie McIver, 37, of God-
erich, and a brother of Mrs. Cyril
Robinson, Wingham, died aboard
the S.S. Soodoe• in Lake 'Superior at
the week-end, -•
A native of Port Burwell, he was
a member of the Highland Light
Infantry during Waled War H.
• He is survived by his wife, the
former Margaret Wilds, three
daughtere and one eon, his :mother,
and two brothers and three sisters.

A pleasant afternoon was spent
at the home of Mrs, Freddie

BELMORE—Thirty ladies of this
district enjoyed a bus trip to Mid-
hurst, Midland and Collingwood on
Thursday,
They enjoyed a picnic lunch in
the beautiful park at Midhurst. In
the afternoon they visited the
shrine and Indian village at; Mid-
land, Later they toured the Blue
Mountain pottery works at Col-
lingwood and the Blue Mountain
Camp for Crippled Children, This
camp is supported bet funds sup-
plied by the Easter Seal campaign.
It is hoped these bus trips will
be an annual event.
